Accessing Capture Mode to make Captures

In December 2023, we launched our web-based Portal Capture Mode to all Page Vault users. This is a fully web-based product, allowing users to launch Capture Mode directly from their portal.

The Desktop Version of Page Vault will be retired on May 1, 2024. Please reach out to support@page-vault.com if you have any questions or concerns.

What is the Portal Capture Mode?

The Portal Capture Mode allow users to launch the Page Vault Capture Mode directly from their portal tool. This eliminates the need for users to install or download the software onto their computer.

All functionality that you are already familiar with will be exactly the same. This is just a new way of launching Capture Mode.

How Do I Access the Portal Capture Mode?

1.) Log in to your Page Vault Portal at https://portal.page-vault.com/

2.) Navigate to the top right corner of your screen and click the “Capture” button. A dialogue box will display asking you to start a new Page Vault Browser session. Click on this to confirm your session.

3.) You will see a new browser window pop up and a new browser session will start to load. Note that this may take between 60-90 seconds.

4.) NOTE: If you are asked to allow access to your clipboard, choose yes. This will allow you to paste URLs / credentials into the browser. Start your captures!

How Do I End a Capture Mode Session?

In the top right section of your browser, you’ll see an “Exit” icon. Click on this when you are done making your captures. Confirm that you’re ready to end your session by clicking “Terminate.”

Note: Only do this when you are completely done making your captures.

What if I want to Continue Using the Desktop Capture Mode Version?

We are retiring the desktop capture mode on May 1, 2024. You will be able to use the Desktop Version until then. Please reach out to support@page-vault.com if you have any questions or concerns.

How to Troubleshoot “Paste” Issues

Some users have reported that they cannot “paste” into the new browser. If this happens, you can fix it by re-allowing access to your clipboard.

For Mac users: locate the “lock” icon in your URL address bar (top left corner shown below). Click on this and locate the “Clipboard” option. Toggle this on. This will allow you to paste into the Browser.

For Windows users: locate the “lock” icon in your URL address bar (top left corner shown below). Click on this and locate the “Clipboard” option. Use the dropdown options to select “Allow.” This will allow you to paste into the Browser.
