How to Capture Facebook Photos and Videos tab

Please note that you will need to be signed into a Facebook account in your browser to view and gather the URLs

At this time, we recommend using Firefox for these collections for the efficient use of Firefox extensions, while there are similar extensions in Chrome we found they do not get all the content needed.

Link Gopher – https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/link-gopher/

Capturing the Tabs

  1. Navigate to Facebook profile in Firefox and click on the user’s Photos/Videos tab
  2. Click on Simple Scroll extension. Click “go” and then “faster” until it’s scrolling as fast as the photos load.
  3. Let extension scroll the page until you get to the bottom of the page. You can click “stop” if you want to scroll up or down without the scroller continuously scrolling down.
  4. Click the Link Gopher extension. A very small pop-up below the extension will show up. Click “extract links by filter”. Type the word “photo” or “video” to get all photo URLs.
  5. A new tab will open up with the links. Select the list, and paste it into Excel/Google Sheets. Make sure you get rid of the general URLs: facebook.com and facebook.com/accountname.
